My Collection of Beauty Minis

Mini-sized beauty products are a great way to try out new formulas, handy to pop into your makeup or travel bag and always look so cute. At this time of year, small products are also great to give as secret Santa gifts and make great stocking fillers. Here are a few mini versions I have collected from subscription boxes, gift sets or purchased to travel with.

Benefit "That Gal" Illuminating Primer
I love this little primer for adding a healthy and natural-looking glow to my skin. You don't need to use a lot of it to see results so this sample size will last me a long time. I apply this all over my face after moisturising to perk up the look of my skin. You can also add more of it to the areas of the face you want to lift, creating a base for a powder highlight.

Benefit High Beam Highlighter
This is a satiny-pink shiny highlight which lasts well and again, a tiny dab of this goes a long way.
I never use a lot of highlighter on my face so a tiny bottle of this is all I need!

Benefit Total Moisture Cream
I bought a full set of Benefit skincare minis back in June, and this is my favourite product of the lot. My skin needs a lot of hydration, especially in cold weather, and this is a perfectly moisturising yet non-greasy cream. It sinks into my face really quickly and the feeling of comfort it leaves lasts an impressively long time.
I use this at night as it doesn't contain SPF but I also dab it onto dry patches during the day, over my day moisturiser and makeup. It reminds me of my favourite Nivea Soft cream, which I will go back to when I have finished this little pot.

Soap & Glory Hand Food
The classic hand cream from Soap & Glory! It is strongly scented so not suitable if the skin on your hands is sensitive, but I really like the non-greasy formula. It contains shea butter, macadamia oil and marshmallow and gives a really softening effect.

Buxom Lip Gloss
This is such a pretty, plumping gloss with a minty scent. It tingles on the lips but not uncomfortably so. You can wear glosses like this over any other lip product or just on their own and this one has a lovely shine to it for festive looks.

Buxom Mascara
This mascara gives really great lengthening results. The long wand coats every lash and the formula is neither too wet nor too dry. Mini mascaras are perfect to take away on your travels over the holiday season as the wands are always the size of the regular product, it's just a smaller tube.

St Ives Facial Scrub
I first used this facial scrub years ago and go back to it every so often in between trying new ones. I love the natural, apricot scent and the gentle exfoliation it gives.
It doesn't dry my skin out but leaves it feeling extremely fresh and cleansed. I always buy this little mini to take away on holiday and find it to be really good value for money.

Kat Von D Lock-It Setting Powder
This Kat Von D translucent powder is beautifully soft and feels silky smooth on the skin. I use it mostly to set concealer under my eyes and find it helps to give a blurred effect over that area.
I have nearly finished this powder and when it is used up I will replace it with Primark's loose powder which does a very similar job for me, but it's fantastic to try mini samples of more expensive products from time to time.

Kat Von D Studded Kiss Lipstick
I have saved my favourite for last! I am so impressed that this mini has the same beautiful and unique studded packaging as the full-size lipsticks.
The actual product is soft, creamy, long-wearing and all-round-delightful. I have a large lipstick collection and have never used a whole tube up in my life, so I am very happy to own smaller versions at a fraction of the cost of the full sizes.
The shade here is Cathedral and it is one of those magical colours which manages to look appropriate at any time of the year and with any outfit.

Thanks for reading and see you soon,

  1. What a great post. You have such a great mini's collection:-) They are all so cute. Love the Buxom lip gloss too - it's definitely one of my favourites and thanks for the tip on the powder. I've never tried Primark cosmetics before so may have to give that a go if it's as good as more expensive versions. Thanks for sharing xxxxx

  2. Definitely interested in that Setting powder! I’m a little scared about any moisturizers because my skins so sensitive. Would these be useable with sensitive skin?

    1. I would stick with moisturisers from brands like Simple which are formulated to be extra gentle on sensitive skin.

  3. I absolutely love minis and for a long time I would only collect them because they're so cute. Lately I am trying to just treat them like regular products because as you say they're a great way to try things out. I am loving that KVD powder and if I ever get through the 2 giant tubs of loose powder I already have, I will get that in full size xxx

  4. I love St. Ives face scrub! It is my go-to exfoliate for my face and body! I love that lip gloss too! I will have to give it a try! Minis are so great to have! I feel like they are always best, especially when trying something new. It sucks to get a brand new full-size bottle that you end up hating!

  8. I saw a little set of those Buxom lipglosses at Christmas and fell in love but I couldn't justify the spend having what I have at home. I do like benefit but had a bad experience with a sales girl at one of their counters and it put me off buying anymore of their products to be honest. I love mini lippies but hate to use them as they are so cute x
